Abstract:
The influence of filtration pressure and of some coagulants as FeCl3, AlCl3 and carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)
on the micro-filtration of baker,s yeast suspensions has been tested in order to improve the kinetics of dead-end filtration
and to decrease the turbidity of filtrate. The filtration rates and the cake resistances obtained for different experimental
conditions (yeast concentration of suspension, filtration pressure and coagulant dosage) are analyzed. The optimal
parameters (filtration pressure and coagulant concentration) are chosen taking in consideration theirs positive effects on
the filtration process.
